Selling dietary supplements on Amazon US may require more than a Certificate of Analysis from your manufacturer. When Amazon requests compliance verification, you need an authorized Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) provider to review your documents, arrange any required testing, and submit the results to Amazon.

Choosing a provider starts with understanding what your product needs. A request to validate manufacturing certification involves different work and costs from testing a finished supplement. This guide compares Amazon-approved dietary supplement TIC providers, explains Amazon requirements, and walks through quotations and the verification process.

Amazon-Approved TIC Providers for Dietary Supplements in the USA

Amazon lists eight authorized TIC providers for dietary supplements sold in its US store: Certified Laboratories, Cotecna, Eurofins, Intertek, Mérieux NutriSciences, NSF, SGS, and UL Solutions. For the current providers available to your product, check the Select a Provider menu in Seller Central.

The right provider depends on what Amazon has requested. You may need existing manufacturing documents validated, product testing, or both. An authorized TIC provider can review existing reports and determine whether they meet the applicable requirements.

Amazon updates its provider list. Check the authorized TIC provider page and the options in your account before choosing a provider.

Before sending samples, obtain the receiving address from your assigned provider. Authorization to serve Amazon US does not mean every laboratory in an organization’s network handles supplement samples or that testing will take place in the United States.

Certified Laboratories

Certified Laboratories offers supplement testing and verification of manufacturing facilities’ third-party cGMP documentation. It also works with EAS Consulting Group for label reviews and regulatory support.

Certified Laboratories states that it verifies cGMP documentation but does not perform the facility audits itself. If your manufacturer lacks the required certification, the facility will need the appropriate audit and certification process. Its published contact number is 1-800-CERT-LAB.

Cotecna

Cotecna’s Amazon services cover new compliance testing and validation of existing documentation. Dietary supplements are included in its authorized US product categories.

When requesting a quotation, identify whether your notice concerns manufacturing certification, product testing, or both. Ask Cotecna to confirm the testing location and sample instructions for your formula before arranging shipping.

Eurofins

Eurofins provides Amazon dietary supplement verification through its Food & Feed Testing network. Its published certification review covers GMP certification, content claims, labels, adulterant testing, and microbiological testing as applicable.

Eurofins provides the resulting Certificate of Analysis and uploads the necessary information for Amazon’s compliance decision. Its dedicated contact email is Certification_EFCT@us4.eurofins-info.com.

Intertek

Intertek supports Amazon supplement sellers with manufacturing compliance reviews, label and claims assessments, and analytical testing. Its listed capabilities include ingredient identity and potency, heavy metals, microorganisms, pesticides, and adulterant screening.

If you already hold a COA, provide it for review before commissioning new tests. Ask Intertek to identify which results it can use and which additional analyses are required.

Mérieux NutriSciences

Mérieux NutriSciences offers Amazon supplement testing and a review service for COAs issued by other laboratories. Its team checks the issuing laboratory’s ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, the relevant method scope, and whether the reported data meets Amazon’s supplement policy.

This is a route to investigate when your manufacturer already provides independent test results. Acceptance depends on the provider’s review. Select Mérieux NutriSciences for the affected ASIN in Seller Central.

NSF

NSF offers Amazon compliance testing and product review, alongside separate product certification options. Its review considers the manufacturer’s GMP documentation, product label images, and testing results before reporting a pass or fail outcome to the seller and Amazon.

For closely related products, NSF describes product bracketing, where eligible products may be assessed as a group. Eligibility depends on factors such as formulation and manufacturing arrangements. NSF’s dedicated Amazon seller support number is +1 313 456 8832.

SGS

SGS provides supplement verification covering manufacturing compliance, ingredient content, contaminants, undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients, and labeling. Its intake process requests label files, manufacturing GMP certification, product specifications or a COA, and samples where testing is needed.

SGS determines the sample quantity after reviewing the product and required analyses. Its listed SGS Nutrasource contact is +1 519 341 3367, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Request the assigned laboratory’s shipping instructions before sending inventory.

UL Solutions

UL Solutions offers dietary supplement testing for Amazon sellers, including heavy metals analysis, microbiological testing, adulterant screening, ingredient verification, and label claim support.

UL identifies its Canton, Massachusetts laboratory as supporting dietary supplement testing. It also lists related GMP audits and quality-system assessments. Ask the project team to separate product testing, document review, and any facility audit work in the quotation.

What Amazon Requires for Dietary Supplement Verification

Supplement verification brings together manufacturing records, product labels, and testing evidence. A COA and a manufacturing certificate serve different purposes, so having one does not replace the other.

Manufacturing Facility Certification

Amazon requires dietary supplements to be manufactured in facilities meeting 21 CFR Part 111, Part 117, or an accepted equivalent. The cGMP audit or certification must come from an accredited third party, and the certificate must be current and in good standing. Review the facility’s documents with your manufacturer before booking verification.

First-party audits, consulting audits, and FDA inspections do not satisfy this certification requirement. A qualifying current GFSI food safety certification may be accepted. This distinction matters for private-label brands that rely on a contract manufacturer’s records.

Product Testing and Label Review

Amazon specifies additional testing for supplements intended for bodybuilding, joint health, sexual enhancement, sports nutrition, and weight management. Requirements cover heavy metals, microbial contaminants, ingredient amounts within specified tolerances, and known adulterants. Pesticide testing may also apply based on the finished product’s components.

Other dietary supplements must still meet applicable manufacturing and labeling requirements. Amazon may also request additional testing or select products for inspection. Read the dietary supplements policy alongside the notice for the affected ASIN.

The label, product images, and product listing also matter. Amazon restricts unauthorized disease claims and requires ingredient-weight claims to agree with the Supplement Facts panel.

Laboratory Accreditation and Amazon Authorization

ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation concerns laboratory competence and testing results. Amazon authorization concerns the provider’s role in its compliance process. These are separate qualifications. Amazon permits testing through other accredited laboratories, but an authorized TIC provider must validate their results.

Document or qualificationWhat it establishesWhat it does not replace
Certificate of AnalysisResults for the sample and tests identified in the reportManufacturing facility certification
GMP certificateCertification of the facility’s manufacturing practices within its stated scopeRequired finished-product testing
ISO/IEC 17025 accreditationLaboratory competence for its accredited testing scopeAmazon-authorized verification
TIC verificationAssessment of submitted evidence against the applicable Amazon requirementsMissing certificates or incomplete testing

Before requesting new tests, provide the TIC provider with the existing evidence and Amazon’s notice. Ask which documents are acceptable, what is missing, and which tests are necessary for the affected product.

How to Choose a TIC Provider for Your Supplement

Choose a provider that can confirm the required work, review your existing evidence, and give you a clear quotation and schedule. Start with the available providers and quotation options in Seller Central for the affected ASINs.

Prepare the compliance notice, product labels, formula details, existing COAs, and manufacturing certification. Follow Amazon’s quotation instructions and the provider’s intake process. The same product information makes quotations easier to compare.

Questions to Ask Before Booking

QuestionWhat the answer helps you establish
Can you handle this product format and formula?Whether the provider can perform the relevant analyses for your supplement.
Can you validate our existing reports?Which results may be usable and which tests are missing.
What exactly does the quotation include?Whether the price covers document review, testing, verification, and submission to Amazon.
Is our manufacturing certificate acceptable?Whether facility documentation needs attention before the review proceeds.
How many samples do you need, and where should we send them? The required quantity, packaging instructions, and receiving laboratory.
When does the turnaround time start?Whether the schedule begins after payment, sample receipt, or acceptance of all documents.
What happens if a result fails or documents need correction? The next steps, possible additional charges, and retesting arrangements.
Who will manage our request?Your contact for updates, missing information, and submission status.

Compare the complete scope before comparing the price. A quotation for document validation cannot be compared directly with one that includes new testing. Ask each provider to identify exclusions and any charges that require further approval.

Timing also needs a precise starting point. SGS describes its typical verification period as two to four weeks from sample receipt, depending on product complexity. For a planned product launch, allow time for the earlier document collection and shipping as well.

If you sell related formulas or variations, ask whether they qualify for grouped assessment. NSF offers product bracketing under defined manufacturing and formulation conditions. Shared branding alone does not establish eligibility.

How Much Does Amazon Supplement Testing Cost?

There is no single fixed price for Amazon dietary supplement testing. The amount depends on your formula, required analyses, and existing documentation. NSF calculates product-specific fees covering items such as contaminant testing, adulterant screening, label claim verification, and certification.

Ask for a quotation that separates the following costs.

Cost categoryWhat it coversWhat to confirm
Document validationReview of existing reports, manufacturing certification, labels, and supporting records.Which documents are included and whether further review costs extra.
Product testingLaboratory analyses required for your supplement. The exact tests, affected products, and reporting fees.
Facility audit and certificationAssessment of the manufacturer’s GMP compliance.Whether your manufacturer already holds acceptable certification.
Additional workShipping, retesting, revised-document review, or other services.Which charges require your approval before work begins.

Existing Document Review

Having a COA does not necessarily remove the verification fee. TIC verification can involve a separate assessment of the COA, GMP certificate, labels, and other evidence submitted for Amazon’s requirements. Ask the provider to assess existing records before you authorize new testing.

New Product Testing

Request an itemized testing quotation based on your actual formula and Amazon notice. Confirm whether the total includes the final verification and submission work. Also check whether you are being quoted for Amazon compliance verification or a broader product certification program.

Manufacturing Audits and Additional Charges

Verifying an existing GMP certificate is different from conducting a facility audit. If acceptable certification is missing, establish with your manufacturer who will arrange and pay for that work.

For budgeting, record the quoted verification and testing charges, sample shipping, and any agreed additional services. Include these alongside your other costs of selling on Amazon when reviewing product-level profitability.

What You Need for Amazon’s Supplement Testing and Verification

Amazon’s dietary supplements policy requires products to meet its manufacturing and labeling requirements. When Amazon sends a compliance request for an ASIN, work with an authorized TIC provider through Seller Central. The provider reviews the required evidence, conducts any applicable testing, and sends the verification result directly to Amazon.

Your job is to start the request, select a provider, and supply the product information, documents, and samples it asks for.

Start With the Request in Seller Central

Open Account Health and find the affected supplement under Food and Product Safety Issues. From the product’s compliance request, begin verification, review the available providers, and follow Amazon’s quotation process.

Keep the generated TRF and Order ID. The provider uses these details to connect its work to your Amazon request.

Ask Your Manufacturer for the Product Documents

Before the provider begins its review, gather the records below for each affected supplement.

Document or detailWhat to request
GMP certificateThe current third-party GMP certificate for the facility that manufactures your supplement.
Certificate of AnalysisExisting finished-product test reports, including the laboratory name, test results, and product or batch details.
Product specificationsThe formula and ingredient details the provider requests for its assessment.
Manufacturing detailsThe facility’s name and address as shown on its certification.
Product labelClear images of all sides of the actual bottle or packaging.
Amazon product detailsThe ASIN, brand name, product name, UPC or GTIN, package size, and count.

Check that the information belongs to the product Amazon flagged. A certificate for a different factory or a COA for a different formula may not support your request. Compare the records with the Amazon product listing before sending them to the provider.

Prepare clear product and packaging images showing all sides of the actual item, including the Supplement Facts panel and other label information. The product shown must match the product being verified and listed on Amazon.

Provide Existing Reports or Product Samples

Amazon allows the authorized TIC provider to review existing testing documents. This does not remove the third-party verification requirement: the TIC provider must assess the reports and determine whether they meet Amazon’s policy.

For a new laboratory test, the provider will give you instructions for sending product samples. Follow its directions for the sample quantity, packaging, and delivery address. The provider may also ask for additional documents during its review.

Keep the Address issue by date in view. Amazon instructs sellers to submit the TRF and send the requested documents or samples before that date so the provider can move the request to in progress after receiving them.

How to Request TIC Verification Through Seller Central

When Amazon requests verification for a dietary supplement, start the process from the affected ASIN in Account Health. You can select the available TIC providers, review quotations, and track the request from there.

Step 1. Find the Compliance Request

Log in to Seller Central and open Account Health. Under Policy Compliance, select Food and Product Safety Issues. Find the affected supplement and review the Address issue by date. Under Next Steps, click Submit, then select Verify your product.

Step 2. Choose the Verification Option

Amazon’s instructions describe two options:

  • Test: Start a request for product testing through an available provider.
  • Validate: Submit an existing document for review.

For example, you may already have a COA from your manufacturer. Choosing validation allows the authorized TIC provider to assess that report against Amazon’s requirements. The provider will identify any additional work required. Both routes are part of Amazon’s third-party verification process.

Step 3. Select Providers and Review Quotations

Select the affected product or products and continue to provider selection. Follow the options in Seller Central to request and review quotations. Compare the price, services, and expected turnaround time before placing an order. Some providers may also contact you by email for product details or provide additional quotation instructions.

Step 4. Submit the Request and Share the TRF

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the request. Record the Order ID and Test Request Form ID, also called the TRF ID, and provide them to your selected TIC provider. These details connect the provider’s work to the correct Amazon compliance request. Amazon says a TRF can be submitted after you receive its document-request notification.

Step 5. Provide Documents and Samples

The provider will tell you how to submit the required records or send product samples. These may include your manufacturer’s GMP certificate, existing test reports, label images, and product specifications. Respond promptly when the provider asks for further information.

Step 6. Track the Request in Account Health

Return to the affected product’s Verify your product page to check the order. You can also use View all orders and the Order ID to review progress.

Submitting the TRF alone does not complete the process. Amazon instructs sellers to submit the request and send the requested documents or samples before the Address issue by date. After the provider receives them, it can update the TRF status to in progress.

Step 7. Check Amazon’s Final Decision

The TIC provider sends its verification results directly to Amazon. Check Account Health for the outcome and address any further issues shown for the ASIN. If the product fails testing or the documents fail validation, Amazon says the listing can be deactivated immediately.

What Happens if Documents Are Rejected or Testing Fails?

Amazon says a listing can be deactivated immediately when a product fails testing or its documents fail validation. Start by asking your TIC provider what failed and what it needs to complete the review. A rejected certificate and a failed product test require different corrections.

IssueWhat to do
Expired or unacceptable GMP certificateAsk your manufacturer for a current certificate covering the facility that makes your supplement. Have the TIC provider review it.
COA does not match the productAsk your manufacturer or laboratory for the correct report for the product and relevant batch. The TIC provider can determine whether it meets Amazon’s requirements.
Required testing is missingAsk the TIC provider to identify the missing analyses and provide a quotation for completing them.
Label or product images do not matchCompare the physical packaging, Amazon listing, and documents. Provide accurate, unmodified images and correct any actual discrepancy.
Product fails a laboratory testObtain the laboratory findings and involve your manufacturer to investigate the affected product and inventory. Ask the TIC provider what corrective action and further testing are required.

When a Product Fails Testing

Request the detailed result from the TIC provider and share it with your manufacturer. You need to know which test failed, which product or batch was tested, and whether the laboratory is investigating the result.

Then establish what must happen to the actual affected inventory. A corrected sample should not be presented as representative of existing stock unless it genuinely matches that stock. Use your Amazon SKUs and lot records to identify the affected units with your manufacturer.

Ask the provider whether the product is eligible for a corrective action process and what evidence it will accept. Eurofins, for example, offers a corrective action form for eligible products, with next steps determined after its review.

Resubmit Through the TIC Provider

Once the missing documentation or product issue has been addressed, ask the provider how to submit the corrected evidence and whether the existing request can be used. The provider communicates the verification result directly to Amazon. For separate listing issues, review the affected ASIN in Account Health and Manage All Inventory.

A passing result addresses the testing or verification issue, but any other open listing issues must also be resolved before the product can be sold again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do all supplements need the same Amazon lab tests?

No. Amazon specifies additional product-testing requirements for supplements intended for bodybuilding, joint health, sexual enhancement, sports nutrition, and weight management. These include testing for certain contaminants and adulterants. Other supplements require manufacturing compliance documentation under Amazon’s policy. Check the notice for your ASIN and the requirements given by your TIC provider.

Can I use my manufacturer’s existing COA?

You can provide it to your selected TIC provider for review. The provider will check whether the report matches the product and meets Amazon’s requirements. It will tell you whether additional testing is required. A manufacturer’s COA does not replace Amazon’s TIC verification process for a notified ASIN.

Can a laboratory outside the USA test my supplement?

A report from a suitably accredited laboratory outside the US may be accepted, provided it meets the applicable requirements and is validated by an Amazon-authorized TIC provider. Ask your selected provider to review the report before paying for new testing.

Does every seller on the same ASIN need separate testing?

Not necessarily. Amazon has previously stated that a passing TIC result can make an ASIN eligible for sale in the US store. However, each selling partner remains responsible for product compliance. Check your own Account Health dashboard and respond to any request shown for your account, including when you resell products listed by another brand.

Do different flavors, sizes, or formulas need separate testing?

They may not all need separate physical tests. Amazon says some ASINs made at the same facility that differ only in aspects such as size, flavoring, or inactive ingredients may qualify for consolidated sampling. Give the TIC provider all affected ASINs and their product details. Amazon also offers bulk TRF submission for multiple flagged products under the same policy.

How long does Amazon supplement testing take?

The timing depends on the provider, product, testing scope, and readiness of your documents. Amazon says testing typically takes around 30 days after the provider receives samples. Ask your chosen provider for an estimate for your specific request.

How often does verification need to be renewed?

Keep the manufacturing facility’s GMP certificate current and follow any new request in Account Health. Testing and certification programs can have their own renewal periods. NSF, for example, states that its Amazon compliance testing and certification options are valid for 12 months. Amazon may also select products for additional testing or inspection.

Is Compliance Fast-Track the same as TIC verification?

Compliance Fast-Track allows Amazon to obtain eligible certification information directly from participating certification organizations. It is a separate route for qualifying products. Check with Amazon and your certification provider to confirm which requirement it covers for your ASIN. Do not assume it replaces every applicable product-testing requirement.

Will a passing test automatically reactivate my listing?

A passing result allows Amazon to assess the product’s compliance, but it does not necessarily resolve every issue affecting the ASIN. Check Account Health and Manage All Inventory for the final status and any other open requirements.

Once your supplement is eligible to sell, plan your Amazon advertising around your product, budget, and launch goals.
